Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar is an American and British sitarist. She was the youngest and first woman to receive an award from the British House of Commons Shield she's had 9 Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian of Indian descent to perform live in concert and act as a host at the ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is an emerging star on the Indian sitar. She is the student and daughter to Ravi Shankar. She spent her childhood bouncing around from London to New Delhi. The first time she performed was at New Delhi at the tender age of thirteen. In Encinitas California in 1999, she was awarded an honorary high school degree.
